3 Steps to Your Safety
CPAT provides a comprehensive three - step test of your portable appliances:
Step 1: Visual Test
The CPAT Tester first carries out a Visual Inspection on:Mains Lead,
Plug and Fuse, Outer Case
Step 2: Electrical Test
If the appliance passes the initial Visual Inspection, the following
electrical tests can be carried out:
- Earth Continuity - Earth Screen
- Insulation - Flash (where applicable)
- Substitute Leakage - Load
- Leakage - Touch Leakage
- Polarity
Step 3: Labeling
A bar-coded label is produced on site and is attached to the equipment
tested.
The label will show if the appliance has passed or failed. A Test
result certificate, which indicates your compliance with the Safety,
Health and Welfare at Work Act 1993 and 2001 is then forwarded to
your Health and Safety Officer.
